At Northshore Pediatric Therapy, our mission is to provide effective, evidence-based, and compassionate clinical services to our pediatric clients and their families.

We are a small private practice in Washington State with two locations - one in Kenmore and one in Shoreline. The Opportunity

We are in search of a dedicated occupational therapy assistant (COTA) or occupational therapist to join our growing practice.

Benefits and Compensation

  • $35.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on experience and education

You

As a member of our team, you have the following education, certification, and licensure:

  • A relevant bachelor's or associate's degree

  • Current Washington State licensure and certification, in good standing, to practice as a COTA

  • Completion of all required fieldwork

  • Demonstrates proficiency in occupational therapy modalities required to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our pediatric client base

You also have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of child development, with a focus on development of functional skills as relevant to the scope of practice for occupational therapy

  • Experience working with children who have challenges related to neurodevelopmental disorders and/or complex medical needs

  • Awareness of neurodiversity-affirming clinical practices and motivation to support families using this framework

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members at Northshore and in the community

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivation and confidence to work semi-independently: Our team is wonderfully supportive, and if you join us as a COTA, you would be working closely with at least one highly experienced OT. We also encourage our providers to grow in their professional autonomy. This means that confidence in your clinical skills would be essential!

Brownie points for:

  • Experience working in an outpatient setting

  • Experience in pediatric feeding therapy and/or interest in developing this skill set

What You'll Do

  • Provide patient- and family-centered clinical services

  • Provide evidence-based clinical support in accordance with the standards set by American Occupational Therapy Association, Washington State, and Northshore Pediatric Therapy.

  • Assist with determining the necessity of skilled occupational therapy intervention for feeding and other activities of daily living

  • Provide clinically appropriate therapeutic intervention that caters to the needs of the individual child/client in terms of feeding and other activities of daily living.

  • Complete relevant paperwork, such as daily treatment notes

  • Educate and communicate with clients, family members, and other care personnel regarding the individualized treatment plan for the child

  • Routinely provide feedback as appropriate to the child, their family member(s) and relevant team members regarding progression, goal achievement and discharge plans

  • Actively contribute to the development of our practice’s occupational therapy services by reviewing best practices and providing guidance in the form of in-services and other educational trainings

  • Work collaboratively with professionals within and beyond our practice, such as teachers and other clinical service providers

  • Make referrals to other providers and community resources as appropriate for each child
