What
In this interactive workshop, rising 2nd and 3rd graders will boost their foundational literacy skills in a fun group environment with games and learning activities.
All activities are designed and led by licensed/certified speech-language pathologists with in-depth knowledge of written language (literacy) development and intervention strategies.
Montana Gregory, MA, CCC-SLP, will lead the workshop each week. She’s super jazzed about using her clinical knowledge to boost your child's reading skills!
Who
Kids going into 2nd or 3rd grade in Fall 2024
This workshop focuses on foundational reading and writing skills for success in the 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.
If your kiddo is going into 2nd grade, this is their opportunity to lock in the literacy concepts they were introduced to during the school year.
If your kiddo is going into 3rd grade, that’s the big year when kids move from learning to read toward reading to learn. This is their chance to make sure they’re ready for the jump!
So, we’re talking about skills like...
Strong speech sound/letter knowledge
Knowing 200+ sight words
Reading longer words (2 syllables)
Understanding some English reading/writing patterns (like vowel teams)
